Cube

Cube vs Grok Bot

Grok Bot is xAI’s team of Bots working on a cloud computer it manages. Cube is a cloud computer you own, for any coding agent, on your own subscriptions.

The short version

Grok Bot, from xAI, gives you Bots: AI teammates with names and jobs that work on a persistent cloud computer with a browser, a filesystem and a terminal, and keep going when your laptop is closed. All of your Bots share that one computer, with its files, browser sessions and app logins. Cursor picks the models; there’s no model picker. It comes with The X Subscription from the $30 Premium tier, and its usage comes out of the same weekly pool as Grok and Cursor.

Cube is your own Linux computer in the cloud, sized for your work, for any coding agent you use. Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode come installed, 18 more install in one click, and each uses your own subscription, so no usage pool is shared with anything else.

When to choose Grok Bot

  • You want assistants that run errands across your apps and the web, not just code.
  • You already pay for The X Subscription or Cursor and want Bots with nothing else to set up.
  • You want approvals built in for actions like sending, buying or publishing.

When to choose Cube

  • You want to choose your agents and models: Claude Code with your Claude plan, Codex with your ChatGPT plan, or both side by side.
  • You don’t want your agents’ work to come out of the same weekly allowance as your chat and editor.
  • You want a machine you can size, SSH into and set up your way, with installed tools that stay.
  • You want your repos from GitHub, a worktree per task, and apps from Market on the same machine.

Questions

How do I get Grok Bot?

As of October 2026, it isn’t sold on its own. It’s included in The X Subscription’s Premium ($30 a month), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) tiers, and in paid Cursor plans for existing subscribers. The Free and Plus tiers don’t include it.

Does Grok Bot have its own usage limit?

Not on The X Subscription. Grok Bot draws from the same weekly pool as Grok and Cursor, so chatting with Grok, making images or coding in Cursor all spend the same allowance. Super and Ultra get larger pools. Third-party models such as Claude or GPT in Cursor are billed at API list prices from prepaid credit.

Can I run Claude Code or Codex on Grok Bot’s computer?

xAI’s docs don’t say. Bots run on models Cursor picks for you, with no model picker. On Cube, Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode come installed, and each signs in with your own account.
